I truly appreciate your taking the time to visit my blog site. My husband Phil and I, along with teenage son Keith, reside in Memphis, Tennessee, where I spend most of my time on photography and writing. I also enjoy reading, walking, biking, Scrabble, thrift store shopping, good conversation, and family.
Some of the pieces you’ll see here were written long before I met Phil, when I was a single foster / adoptive mother with the State of Tennessee Department of Children’s Services.
I hold a B.A. in Elementary Education from Harding University, an M.S. in Instructional Technology from the University of Memphis, Administrative Licensure from Christian Brothers University, and a School Library Media Specialist endorsement from Union University. Work experience includes several years as an elementary classroom teacher, lead teacher for a mental health center’s therapeutic nursery program (for preschoolers with abuse / neglect issues), Instructional Technology Specialist, and my most recent position as a librarian.
My current project, which I am loving, is called Connecting Memphis and involves photographing Memphians and conducting short interviews. It is a privilege and honor to be able to meet so many of the amazing people who make up our city.
